Jim Francis of Francis Mailman Soumilas, P.C. Addresses Reporter’s Comments Regarding New Consumer Protection Bureau

The newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is considering supervising credit reporting, debt collection and other non-bank financial institutions. The FTC does not have the capability to oversee these institutions so Congress established the CFPB to provide oversight and regulation.

One goal is to help prevent and remedy the common yet costly errors that occur with consumer credit files.
