TURSS is the consumer reporting agency (the company) behind tenant-screening reports. SmartMove is a TURSS product designed for smaller or individual landlords to screen renters online.
A rental screening inquiry may appear as a “soft” inquiry and may reference TURSS or TRSSI.
Under the FCRA, the landlord must give you an adverse action notice stating the reason for the denial and the name, address, and phone number of the reporting agency (TURSS/SmartMove).
