CastleBranch Background Check Errors

Background Check Errors Can Cause Job Loss
Mistakes on background checks happen. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) CastleBranch must make sure that the information they provide is accurate and up-to-date. The most common complaint we hear about background check errors is when information belonging to another individual ends up on your report. This error occurs most often for people with common names. Background check companies must take extra time and care to be sure the information they are reporting is about the right person. These types of errors can result in job applications being denied.

Background Check Errors & 3 FCRA Rights You Should Know

  • You must be notified if the contents of a background check are used against you. If a background check is used against you, you must be given information on how to get a free copy of the report, and the contact information of the company that provided the report. You should also be given a summary of your rights under the FCRA.
  • You have the right to dispute any inaccurate or incomplete information found in your report.
  • You have the right to sue the background check company for damages due to errors on your report.

Disputing CastleBranch Background Check Errors

Even if you do not have a criminal history, a mix up with another person’s file can show otherwise to a potential employer. When your background check or credit report from CastleBranch is wrong, you have the right to dispute the errors. It is important to dispute any errors right away. Once you file a dispute CastleBranch will have 30 days to investigate and make any corrections to your file.
CastleBranch offers a dispute form on their website at https://www.castlebranch.com/dispute-accuracy-of-my-background-check
