Biography
AMY WELLS joined Francis Mailman Soumilas, P.C. as Of Counsel in 2026. She is also the founder of Wells Law Office Inc., d/b/a Wells Law Chicago, a Chicago-based consumer protection firm representing individuals in complex consumer rights matters.
For more than twenty years, Amy has litigated consumer protection cases nationwide, including serving as lead counsel in multi-million-dollar class actions. Her practice focuses on credit reporting errors under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, robocalls and Do-Not-Call violations under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and other consumer protection claims. Her experience spans state and federal litigation, class and mass actions, arbitration, and large-scale case oversight.
Amy is a frequent speaker, author, and mentor in the consumer law community. She has presented at conferences hosted by the National Consumer Law Center, Practising Law Institute, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates, among others. She authored the Fair Credit Reporting Act chapter of PLI’s The Consumer Law Handbook and has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Miami Valley Trial Lawyers Association and Chair of the Ohio Association for Justice Consumer Law Section.
Amy received her J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Dayton. She is licensed in Illinois and Ohio state courts, as well as numerous federal district and appellate courts. Her accolades include selection as a Super Lawyers Top Rated Class Action & Mass Torts Attorney since 2018 and receipt of the Ohio Association for Justice President’s Award.
