Consumer Protection FAQ - Do You Have a Case?

Video Transcription

The questions I get a lot as a lawyer at a Consumer Law Firm are “What exactly is consumer protection?” and “Do I have a case?”.
Consumer law is intended to assure fairness for ordinary people in the marketplace. It’s a set of rules and regulations that requires accuracy and truthfulness in consumer information and that prohibits below board or deceptive business practices.

The marketplace is virtually anything from the supermarket to the stock market. It includes the employment marketplace the housing and rental marketplace the higher education marketplace and virtually anything to do with loans or credit.

So you might have a case:

  • When you’re sitting at the closing table for the purchase of a home or at the dealership for the purchase of a car and the credit bureau provides inaccurate credit history about you that causes you to be denied that loan or to be charged an elevated interest rate for it.
  • When the bank or dealership tacks on additional undisclosed fees.
  • When the bill collector tacks on even more bogus fees or engages in harassing or deceptive business practices.
  • When the background screening company mixes your background information with that of someone with a criminal history and that inaccurate information causes you to be denied an apartment or a job.
  • When the food cosmetics or other product or service you purchased is not as advertised in other words when you didn’t get what you paid for.

Now, unfortunately, there’s still way too many segments of the marketplace that have misinformation and deceptive practices, but the good news is that federal and state consumer protection laws are strong that allow you to hire an experienced attorney to set the record straight and to recoup their losses without any out-of-pocket cost to you.

Now whether you have a case will of course depend on your particular facts and circumstances but if you are interested in a free case review I hope you contact us through the website below or call us at the toll free number below [1-877-735-8600] .

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.
