Credit report agencies falsely reporting consumers as terrorists, drug traffickers

Some credit reporting agencies were falsely reporting consumers as terrorists or drug dealers due to information they pull from the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list.

If the consumer has a similar name to someone on the list, this can result in the mistaken information showing up in their credit report, causing significant problems for the consumer.
